I like Atkins because (1), it works! (2) you don't have to pay to have food delivered. If you follow the plan (which is free) and stick to it, you can lose - not you money - just your weight. I have found that I am super-sensitive to carbohydrates. This is a good thing to know as it helps me make good choices for myself. No one else prepares my food. It is not delivered frozen. I do not have to pay for expert advice. It is just an all-around good plan that works - every time. No monthly fees, no paying for food, no "super vitamins, just good old-fashioned "watching what you eat." BP down (no more meds), Cholesterol down, triglycerides down. Life is just better with Atkins!!

I followed Medifast for 9 months and lost 85 lbs on the diet. It was hell, even after adjusting to starving all the time. It was also very expensive.
I went off Medifast and gained back 45 lbs of the 85 I lost. I went back on Medifast and struggled over 3 months to lose 16 lbs again. Clearly, my body was rejecting the diet that was starving me at 800 calories a day!
I had always considered Atkins a bad choice for a diet and as I grew up with a "low fat" mentality, it seemed impossible that one could enjoy bacon, cream, cheese, and occasionally a little butter and still lose weight. It also seemed impossible to not be hungry and still lose weight- but boy was I wrong!
I am naturally drawn to carbs and vegetarian foods- I was full vegetarian for about 4 years. During that time, my weight climbed to 270 lbs despite eating lots of veggies, fruits, tofu, etc. I was also eating loads of carbs- rice, bread, pasta and sugar. I didn't think I could consider Atkins because of my eating preferences. But again, I was wrong. Creative egg recipes, loads of salad (even with blue cheese crumbles, Cesear dressing, avacados!), lots of tofu and I feel great! I'm not veggie anymore, so I do eat chicken, bacon in the morning, and also fish. I find that with a balance of veggies, tofu, eggs and a little meat, I am losing more weight and way easier than I did on Medifast!
I have to recommend this diet, because if done responsibly than you feel great, lose weight quickly, have no cravings, and feel no hunger! And if you add in an atkins bar or 2 a day, then the sugar cravings are satisfied as well.

My blood pressure normalized so fast that my doctor cut it down in two weeks and after 4 weeks took me off of it. There is no way I'd ever go back to eating the way I was before Atkins. I can breathe now and have not used my inhaler once since I started this diet.
