Nutrisystem Reviews

Just ordered Nutrisystem and cannot wait to be on the program for ten days to see some results, I did weight watchers for 30 days as I promised myself to stick to the program for 30 days....I lost 4 fricken pounds...not once did any one ask me what I was eating, what I was doing....here's the sad truth, I did that program to a fault! I even ran on my treadmill five times a week for 50 minutes to get those coveted "points!"

I hated counting!!!!!! And spending so much time at the grocery store trying to calculate every single product in my cart! R U Kidding ME!

So ready to grab my meals and enjoy them until the next instead of wasting my lunch time trying to calculate how many points to subtract!

I will keep you all posted.

I have only started Nutrisystem about 3 days ago...but the best part, for me, is their website. The daily tracker allows you to keep track of what you eat -calculates the caloric intake, any exercise you do calculates the calories burned. This is a great weight loss tool for me...it really helps me be more committed. The program is a great way to jumpstart your way to smarter choices, portion control and an entire lifestyle change. And you're worth it!!!

I recently went on the NutriSystem plan. So far, I find it amazing. I am a super busy person, and am generally away from my house from 7am-7pm every day. That being said, I don't have the time to cook, plan meals and grocery shop for many diet plans out there. What is great about NS is that I don't have to do any planning- the food is sent out monthly with minimal involvement from me and my tired brain :). While I do like to cook, convenience is far more important to me at this point as work is a priority.

I initially chose NS over other weight loss programs such as Jenny Craig because they would not quote me a price- ANYWHERE- on their site. I knew that this was going to set me up to have to call them and for them to conduct a sales pitch (which was a good thing because in retrospect because the reviews for Jenny Craig are awful!) I like that NS told you everything you need to know on their site. Nothing hidden. 5 minutes later, and I had an order confirmation. My food would be here in just a few days!

When my food arrived, I was excited. It came in 4 different types of packages that are color coded by meal: blue: breakfast, green:lunch red: dinner and pink: dessert. I immediately sorted them by category and put them away so that retrieving them for the day would be quick and easy. Does it get more simple than that?

Regard the actual food and taste, I have been eating diet food for years, and frankly am quite used to it. I probably have a higher "tolerance" than most for it as a result. The good news is that although my tolerance is high, some of the foods are genuinely really good. My fiance, who has no use for diet food, has liked some of the foods.

Ways to control the foods you eat: In the first shipment that is sent out, you are provided with a meal planner. The planner enables you to write down/track your foods (so simple). After each new food I tasted, I then graded it from A-F. Then I wrote down the ones that I did not like (examples: non frozen chicken fettuccini alfredo dinner, raspberry chocolate bar dessert, macaroni/salisbury steak dinner, mashed potatoes lunch, blueberry muffin breakfast, etc.). After grading each and identifying that ones that I disliked, I went online and took them off my future delivery, then added more of the foods that were delicious (examples: cinnamon bun breakfast bar, fettuccini alfredo lunch, thick crust pizza, peanut butter bar, parmesean with broccoli lunch, cheese ravioli dinner, pasta with beef lunch, chocolate crunch bar, creamy fudge-sickle, etc.).

Grocery shopping is a breeze- you only need add ins such as cheese, fruit, vegetables, milk, egg, etc. It is so much easier to add a couple of ingredients to improve the taste (which you must add a dairy, for example, to every meal- just add shredded melted cheese to the pasta dishes and yum!) rather than plan out a whole meal. Tracking is great too- you can do this on line, or in the handy little booklet (there is also a great restaurant planner).

The customer service folks online are so friendly and truly want to help and counsel. I had a conversation with one today to talk about food selection and the conversation morphed into tips and tricks, water consumption, my thoughts on the program, etc. They are available 24/7 which is convenient.

Another good thing about the program is that you can add ala carte items, which I just placed on order today for different desserts. They are good to keep in your pocketbook in case you are on the go and get really hungry.

Lastly, I am pretty much always full. On the program, you must eat the following in a days: breakfast: a NS breakfast entree, plus a dairy or protein (cheese or egg, eg) and fruit. Lunch includes a NS lunch entree, dairy or protein, and 2 servings of vegetables. then a snack is required, which includes a dairy or protein, and fruit. Dinner is as follows: a NS dinner entree, fruit or vegetable, 2 additional servings of vegetable, and one fat (examples of a fat: 5 olives, 2tbs salad dressing, avacado (1/8). A dessert is then required, which typically includes a NS dessert (examples- chocolate crisp bar- delicious, ice cream sandwich, peanut butter chocolate bar, pudding, chocolate chip cookie, etc.). As you can see, this is a lot of food for the day. At about $250 a month, it certainly give the most bang for your buck.

So, needless to say, I am happy with the program so far. I already feel more confident, energetic and truly set up to succeed on this plan.
