I have been on the South Beach Diet for 6 days now, and despite the fact that I can't seem to give up ketchup, and have been eating protien between meals, I have still managed to loose 4 pounds. I still feel hungry sometimes but that may be because I'm doing it wrong. After reading this article I am cutting out the ketchup, and lets see how I do from there. But this diet doesn't seem to be that hard.

Today was my first official day on the South Beach diet and it wasn't so bad!

I actually enjoyed it and feel good about this diet (life change). I'm an hispanic and am used to all the rice, tortillas, tamales etc. and know that when holidays come around it will be hard but sure i can do it!

I hope to report in the future all the wieght i lost :) oh and no cravings, yet!

I went on the south beach diet with my brother about five years ago when I was 24. I recommend partnering with someone through phase 1 at least, because it makes it easier to stick with it when you have the support. I managed to lose about 15 pounds in the first 3 weeks.

We extended phase 1 a little due to the fact that a memorial day barbecue stood in our way. We didn't really continue intentionally into phase 2 that summer. I continued to slowly lose another 10 pounds over the next month, bringing me to my target weight of 155 pounds. I managed to keep my weight off up untill about 6 months ago when stress involving my wife's job as well as my own, caused her and I to both gain weight putting me back at my pre-south beach number from years ago.

I decided to start the diet again and bring my wife on board with me. Anticipating the start I bought some of the proper foods and we started eating them before officially starting the diet. Without even realizing it we had started losing weight. We officially started the diet 3 days ago and I've already lost 8 pounds while my wife has lost 5 pounds.

This diet really is a great thing, I'm already feeling better and seeing the pounds fall off does a ton for one's self esteem. We plan on moving on to phase 2 and sticking with it. Remember also to get some lite exercise along with the diet. It will definitely help your body to slim out. Particularly if your work requires you to sit down most of the time. Simple exercises in your office when you feel tired and sluggish will get your blood flowing, wake you up and help you lose weight.
