The points-based method of Weight Watchers is outdated and doesn’t go far enough to promote healthy lifestyle changes. For better success, stick with diets like Nutrisystem or Medifast Diet.

i am a lifetime memeber. I agree with the last blogger that its very confusing and all of the items that were 1-2 points are now double. Of course they double the daily points you're allowed. I never did the points program. I did the core program which is what has been mixed with the original plan. Come on people. We are all adults here. We can all figure out when we have had enough to eat, so saying you'll over eat on fresh fruit or veggies is redicilious. My problem is going to the meetings and it not applying to me anymore. I feel like I'm pushed to the side and the plan I refuse to leave behind, is not addressed whatsoever. Its very disappointing that once you find something that works, you up and change the very thing that isn't broke.
Marketing is all I think it is. Does it work? absolutely. Is it a good plan, maybe for those that know nothing about the simple plans. But stop making me think about numbers. 35 points a week is all I can handle, after that, I gett brain freeze!!!

I am extremely unhappy with Weight Watchers Points Plus program. I am a lifetime member and lost 35 pounds on the original Points program. What I always loved about Weight Watchers was that they allowed you to lose weight your way. I always followed points and in addition to healthy choices such as fish and vegetables, I felt that I had freedom to indulge in foods that helped me avoid feelings of deprivation, such as low fat ice cream, Vitatops and low point/calorie breads. The key was that I was able to enjoy a 1-2 point indulgence with no guilt.

That has all changed with Point Plus. First of all, other than vegetables, no food should be points free. Fruit is loaded with sugar, and zero points falsely gives the feeling that unlimited is OK. Yes this is perhaps my problem, but I have not been faced with it until Point Plus. Second, my 1-2 point indulgences are now anywhere from 3-5 points, and with the extra points comes guilt. For the first time since I joined Weight Watchers I feel as if I am on a diet.

Weight Watchers moved from a plan that offered freedom to one that seems to make a judgment about the types of food I choose to eat. The folks at Weight Watchers failed to think about the impact this change would have on its former (yes former) members.

I was successful at the old WW program and was very happy with it. However, after a few years I have gained everything back. I rejoined WW and am very unhappy with the Points Plus program. I have been going 3 weeks and have only lost .4 pounds. I find it very tedious and not as easy to follow as the old system. I just canceled my membership and plan to do the old program on my own. It works. I wish they had not changed their system. Since my re-joining I am hearing the success stories at meetings. The weight loss numbers are very low.
